(Updated 9/23/22) All attendees (including exhibitors, guests, staff, streamers, etc.) must verify that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 OR provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test to attend TwitchCon. Regardless of vaccination status, all attendees will also be required to wear approved face coverings to enter and remain at TwitchCon. We will also have hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue. Please see our Health Measures FAQs below for more information on what constitutes a full vaccination, acceptable proof of a negative test and face coverings.
Vaccination or negative COVID-19 verification will take place at Bayfront Park before you enter TwitchCon. You can not pick up your TwitchCon badge until you have been verified and received the Health (COVID-19) verification wristband. All attendees (including exhibitors, guests, staff, streamers, etc.) must wear their Health (COVID-19) verification wristband at all times while at TwitchCon and the official TwitchCon party.
Health (COVID-19) Verification Wristband
The Health (COVID-19) verification wristbanding location is located outside of the San Diego Convention Center at the Bayfront Front park in front of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Please download our Health (COVID-19) Verification Wristbanding Locations guide, or see below. You may pick up your Health (COVID-19) verification wristband starting Wednesday at noon.
CLEAR Health Pass
To help expedite your wristband verification process and overall experience at TwitchCon, we’ve partnered with CLEAR Health Pass to make your Health (COVID-19) screening easier. Health Pass is a free service on the CLEAR mobile app that allows you to upload your proof of vaccine before arriving at the event OR a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of entry. Use the code “TwitchConSD” to create or update your Health Pass for TwitchCon San Diego. For more information, click here.
CLEAR Health Pass is not required, but will save you time in line! If you choose to not use CLEAR Health Pass, please see the below options in our FAQ on what is accepted to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result.
Meet & Greets
In order to ensure their comfort, Meet and Greet streamers have been given the option to dictate their own safety protocols. This includes handshakes, hugs, and receiving gifts. Once attendees reach the front of the queue, Event staff will clarify what the streamer has chosen for their Health and Safety measures.
Attendees are required to wear their mask while queuing and during photographs. Please respect directions from staff and security in the Meet & Greet area.
We will continue to monitor the health and safety measures along with local authorities and we reserve the right to modify and add health requirements at our sole discretion.
At this time, “fully vaccinated” means that the first day of your attendance at TwitchCon must be at least 14 days after completion of your primary series of a Center of Disease Control (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO) approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine. This means that you need to receive your second dose of your COVID-19 vaccine in a 2-dose series or your single-dose COVID-19 vaccine no later than September 22, 2022 to attend the first day of TwitchCon.
Please note that the CDC recommends that people remain up to date with their vaccines, which includes additional doses and/or booster doses. Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/booster-shot.html for more information.
Bring one of the following records of your COVID-19 vaccination status when you check-in to receive your TwitchCon badge:
People who were vaccinated in California can get a free digital COVID-19 Vaccination Record at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov
Note you must provide a government issued ID that matches the name on your vaccination record. Those younger than 18 may use a government-issued ID, birth certificate, social security card, school ID, or locally issued ID.
We encourage you to download the free CLEAR app on your smartphone and create your Health Pass with the code ‘TwitchConSD’ ahead of the event. New members will be guided through enrollment steps, which will include uploading your proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of entry. Bring one of the following of your negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before you check-in to receive your TwitchCon verification wristband:
Acceptable negative test results are limited to third-party laboratory-provided antigen and PCR results conducted no more than 72 hours prior to the start of the event. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.
The name on your test result must match your government-issued ID. Those younger than 18 may use a government-issued ID, birth certificate, social security card, school ID, or locally issued ID.
All badge holders at TwitchCon must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to checking in at the event or provide a record of a negative COVID-19 test. Fully vaccinated is defined by the Centers for Disease Control as 2 weeks after receiving recommended doses in their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine.
A record of COVID-19 vaccination must be provided at onsite check-in to receive your TwitchCon verification wristband. Acceptable records include the attendee’s physical COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or digital COVID-19 certificate, COVID-19 vaccine certificate, a photo of the attendee’s COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or a digital verification of the attendee’s COVID-19 record from a smartphone application.
